Finished Lubricants
Lubricants are substances used to reduce friction between moving and stationary surfaces. In a simple definition, lubrication is a method to prevent friction and wear of moving metal parts that are in contact with each other by creating a thin layer of lubricant between the parts. Also, these oils reduce the heat produced between moving surfaces.
The finished lubricants (lubricant finished products) are made of two key elements. The base oil is the main ingredient by volume, and the other is the additives.
Base oils and additives are mixed according to a specific recipe and formulation during a mixing process at a particular temperature, producing the finished oil. Additives are added to the base oil to display the characteristics required in the equipment. By adding additives with chemical compounds of different properties and variations, lubricants display the desired characteristics for use in the industry or car engines.
Today, the most important method for producing the required base oil is refining crude oil obtained through several successive stages and from a particular oil fraction in a vacuum distillation tower with specific viscosity, flash point, and pour point. In the next step, the undesirable compounds found in the oil are separated from it using different methods, improving the viscosity index of the oil. After the oil refining operation in the waxing unit, heavy solid paraffins are separated from the oil. In the final step, in the hydrogen purification unit, wastes such as sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen are removed from the oil to make it more stable in machines and harsh conditions. After going through all the above steps, the base oil is sent to the blending unit to produce all kinds of industrial oils following international standards by adding suitable additives.
Usually, it is necessary to produce a suitable lubricant for each equipment and application depending on operational conditions such as durability, pressure, pollution, etc. In this regard, Kimia Elika Sepanta company, using the knowledge and experience of experts in the oil industry, universities, laboratories, and research equipment and being familiar with the latest and most up-to-date production processes of oil and lubricant products, has processed and upgraded the quality of the raw materials to produce all kinds of oils with HTF technology (superior formulation technology), so that the oil with specific properties and usages is applied in any piece of equipment (engine, gearbox, steering box, etc.)
